The competitiveness of graduates is not only an urgent problem, but also the one that requires constant attention, as the requirements for knowledge, skills and abilities of specialists are constantly changing. The article is devoted to the problem of professional training of competitive university graduates. The article describes global changes observed at the present stage of socio-economic development of society and labor market that affect higher education. A number of circumstances are noted, such as rapid development of modern society, higher education system and globalization processes, including changes in socio-economic relations, digitalization of many spheres of life of the younger generation, the development of advanced learning and an open system of higher education. This article highlights and examines the skills of graduates that are requested by employers, as well as by young professionals themselves, that show the specifics of the ongoing processes. The analysis of the state of the modern labor market is carried out, its features are identified and characterized, the processes of its transformation are revealed; the problems of university graduates’ employment are identified; the basic needs of the modern labor market for the training of competitive specialists are identified and analyzed; employers’ requirements for the training of competitive graduates and requirements for universities are identified and systematized. It is concluded that although a lot of scientific studies have been devoted to the problem under study, it has not yet found its theoretical and practical solution in the context of the changing socio-economic situation and the requirements of the modern labor market. Therefore, universities are faced with the problem of developing a theoretical, methodological and technological basis for the training of competitive university graduates, taking into account the requirements of the modern labor market. |
