The authors explore innovative forms, methods, and conditions for effective interaction between the curator and an academic group that includes foreign students. The relevance of this study is driven by the significant increase in the number of foreign students at Russian universities, creating an urgent need to develop modern approaches to training teachers of Russian as a Foreign Language for various types of interaction with international students. The purpose of this article is to examine the challenges of curatorial activities, their role in working with foreign students in the humanities, and to propose measures for optimizing this work. The research methodology is based on competence-based, personal-activity, and cultural approaches. The study employs methods such as analysis, generalization, and synthesis of scientific and theoretical literature on the research problem, along with experimental results and survey methods. This article explores the definitions of “educational environment”, “educational activity”, and “curator”. It identifies the characteristics of a curator’s educational role in engaging with foreign students and examines the conditions necessary for their adaptation to the host country’s linguistic and cultural environment. The findings presented in this study indicate that, when working with an academic group comprising international students, it is essential to develop intercultural communication skills, adopt an individualized approach to students, and account for their psychological and national-cultural characteristics, as well as address language barriers. The research confirms the effectiveness of the approaches to curatorial work discussed in the article, including online interaction through various ICT tools, personalized communication strategies, and the organization of cultural and creative events. The study’s results can be applied to structuring support programs for international students in both secondary and higher educational institutions across the Russian Federation, thereby facilitating their adaptation to life in Russia.
