The article deals with the problems of personnel management in physical culture and sports organizations. The non-commercial nature of sports schools affects the peculiarities of personnel management system: there is a problem of recruitment and retention of personnel, limited use of material incentive methods, so it is necessary to take into account sociopsychological factors and competently combine democratic and authoritarian management style. The small size of the organization does not imply a separate personnel manager, which indicates the incompleteness of the personnel management system. The transition period experienced by sports schools in connection with the transformation of sports programs into educational ones, the processes of digital transformation of the industry actualize the issues of personnel adaptation to rapid changes. At the same time, the popularization of the institute of mentoring suggests one of the effective but understudied methods of sports schools personnel management. In the author’s opinion, its introduction into the personnel management system of sports schools should be preceded by an analysis of the personnel management structure of a particular school, identification of priority areas for improving the personnel management system, analysis of the prerequisites for the introduction of a mentoring program existing in the organization. The author conducted a research on the basis of one of the municipal budgetary sports schools in Ufa, the Republic of Bashkortostan. The stuff consisted of 25 people. Quantitative and qualitative analysis of the personnel structure was carried out: gender and age analysis, analysis of the level of education, qualification, length of service, etc. Having excluded the most widespread problems in work teams, on the basis of personnel survey the author came to the conclusion about the priority of solving the problem of adaptation of employees regardless of age and length of service. The questionnaire data led the author to the idea of using the method of mutual mentoring. Pairs “young mentor experienced mentor” were formed, the work of the pairs was organized and the content of their meetings was determined, subjective and objective evaluation of the results was carried out.
