Communication media are currently considered by government agencies as one of the tools for improving the quality of life of the population. This is not only feedback on ongoing government programs, but also the ability to inform about ongoing or expected changes in the population. This allows an individual to make informed decisions, since his resources are limited. At the same time, a large role is assigned to the mass media to counter the growing wave of fraud and the involvement of young people in it. The need for mass media for an individual is determined by the lack of personal time and the lack of knowledge for independent collection and generalization of the increasing flow of information. With all the variety of unofficial channels for transmitting information, the main source that provides information in a structured form remains business messages posted by the media. As a result of the correct presentation of information, an individual receives a personalized benefit. The purpose of this study was to determine the subject and criteria of everyday journalism, which allows this genre to have distinctive features, primarily in comparison with business journalism. Within the framework of a separate subject of everyday journalism, focused on the needs of the individual, which causes the interest of the economic person in information, criteria, attributes and standards for business materials are proposed. At the same time, the author considers everyday journalism as a genre, and not a form of information presentation (press). The methodological basis of the conducted research was based on a logical approach using the descriptive method, analysis and synthesis, induction, generalization, scientific abstraction and expert judgment. The set of methods used ensures the reliability of the conducted research and the validity of its conclusions. The article provides examples demonstrating the practical application of the established criteria in conducting content analysis in relation to published materials. The conclusions made by the author of the article expand such a theoretical area as the role of everyday journalism in the economic life of an individual.
