Annotation:

The article reveals the essence, prerequisites and modern approaches to the concept of bioeconomy. The main trends and directions of bioeconomy development are identified, including the production of bioenergy, biomaterials, development of biomedicine and agriculture based on the principles of sustainability. Bioeconomy development trajectories vary significantly across countries of the world, which is due to differences in economic growth rates, resource base, scientific and technical potential, human resources and political priorities. A key role in bioeconomy is played by modern biotechnologies, which, based on scientific and engineering achievements, allow transforming raw and other materials, creating a wide range of new technologies and products with unique properties and capabilities. The development of bioeconomy is associated with a number of challenges, compromises and potential contradictions regarding sustainable production, processing and use of biomass and bioresources, responsible attitude to the environment. It is indicated that public policy and effective government regulation are of paramount importance in stimulating the development of bioeconomy and creating favorable conditions for innovation and attracting investment. A significant factor in the successful development of the bioeconomy is the creation of a close connection between the education system and business needs. The importance of not only training new qualified specialists with modern knowledge and competences in the field of biotechnology, bioengineering and sustainable socio-economic development, but also retraining existing personnel to adapt to new labor market requirements is noted. The directions and prospects for the development of the bioeconomy in our country are summarized, taking into account the specifics of the national economy, resource availability and scientific and technical capabilities.
