STATISTICAL STUDY OF THE DYNAMICS OF INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTION OF THE REGIONS OF RUSSIA BY THE CHAIN METHOD FOR 1990—2023

| Annotation: | The uneven spatial development of Russia is largely due to the significant difference in the current level of formation of productive forces in the country. Industry, as a key element of the real sector, creates the basis for the economic development of regions, on the basis of which other non- production areas are built. It is the industry that is the core of socio-economic progress. In this regard, the analysis of the development of regional industry, its dynamics and features is a key link in programs to reduce interregional differentiation of socio-economic development. In this article, based on the chain analysis method, the dynamics of industrial progress of regions in the time period from 1990 to 2023 is analyzed. The analysis shows that throughout the entire period of formation and development of the market economy in Russia, there was and currently is a strong degree of differentiation of the subjects of the Russian Federation by significant socio-economic indicators. Groups of regions with a high level of industrial production have higher indicators of socio-economic development compared to other groups. The negative consequences of regional differentiation are known to be interregional migration flows, reduced opportunities for innovative development and investment attractiveness of outsider entities, etc. Statistical assessment of regional differentiation shows that with certain quantitative changes in dynamics, a reliable trend towards a decrease in differentiation was not observed. The factors restraining growth were the diverse measures of the state in the implementation of the Strategy for the Development of the Regions of the Russian Federation until 2025. The study may be of interest for making informed decisions in the implementation of targeted programs at the macroeconomic level within the framework of the adopted new Strategy for the Development of Regions until 2030. | ||
