The article presents an approach to managing the reliability of logistics processes in the supply systems of state educational institutions of higher education in the context of the development of the university model as a multi-functional center implementing traditional academic, scientific and educational activities with an increasing role of the innovation component. The author’s approach to determining the reliability of logistics processes in the supply system is proposed, meaningfully appealing to the category of “failure” as an event when the duration of operations (or their complexes) exceeds acceptable limits, leading to disruption or shutdown of the university’s main processes in the field of academic, scientific, innovative, and educational activities. Based on the performed comparative analysis and morphological synthesis of methods of process management, simulation modeling and reliability management, the systematization was carried out and the boundaries of the application of probabilistic, statistical and logical methods of reliability assessment in the university’s supply system were identified, on the basis of which an enlarged flowchart was formed to substantiate decisions on reliability management of logistics processes in the university’s supply system. The information basis of the study was made up of data on the performance of logistics processes during the processing of requests from internal consumers in the university’s supply system, which revealed a variety of laws governing the distribution of random variables in the execution time of the procurement process and its individual components, the use of which makes it possible to improve the accuracy of modeling the studied processes and an assessment of their future reliability. The article identifies the potential of applying the presented approach, which is manifested in increasing the validity of decisions on the need to improve the structural and/or functional characteristics of the university’s supply system in the context of increasing requirements for the reliability of its functioning from internal consumers, and also identifies areas for further scientific research, the content of which the authors associate with the justification of the target parameters of logistics processes in the university’s supply system in the context of the transition to a new university model, classification of possible supply system conditions, systematization of reliability factors.
