THE VALUE BASES OF CULTURAL TRADITIONS AS A SUBSTANTIAL DOMINANT FEATURE OF MODERN EDUCATION

Annotation:

The article examines the problem of the selection of target and substantial dominant of modern education in the conditions of political, economic and social-cultural transformations of the Russian society and defects in formation of cultural identity of a person emerged on this basis. The urgency of applying to cultural traditions in the process of education and training is justified. A notion of cultural traditions as the socially important, transmitted from generation to generation, imperatives of cultural patterns (ideals) of conduct and cultural values is formulated. A thesis about the necessity of application of the mechanisms of humanitarian cognition in the process of upbringing of young generation is proposed. The conclusion is made about the use of value bases of cultural traditions as the factor enabling the person to determine itself, to recognize itself as a representative of the Russian society and humanity.
