WATER-ENERGY RESOURCES OF THE REGIONAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

The article examines actual issues of regional development on the grounds of comprehensive utilization of the waterpower resources. Special attention is paid to the cooperation of Tajikistan with other countries in the field of power engineering and rational use of water resources, which is a strategic streamline of economic integration at the post-Soviet area and a prerequisite of Tajikistan Republic entrance into the Eurasian economic alliance. Insufficient provision of electric power causes increase of migrants and the share of their money transfers in GDP. In order to increase energy security, implementation of the project of completion of Rogun HEPS is urgently required; utilization of minor HEPSs advantages, as well as wide use of the non-traditional resumed sources of power. The ways of increasing the energy security of Northern region are determined.
