On the application of plea agreements. Experience of foreign countries

The article presents a comparative-legal study of the institution of the plea agreement in the countries of the Anglo-Saxon and continental legal systems. The norms of the law designed to improve efficiency of fight against crimes committed by persons with special legal status (military personnel, officials, politicians) are examined. The author analyzes the data of judicial statistics of domestic and foreign courts and statistical data of researchers about the institution of plea bargaining. The study defines the principles that contribute to a wide practical application of the institution of the pre-trial agreement on cooperation.
