«WILD NATURE» AS A LEGAL CATEGORY: ISSUES FOR DISCUSSION

| Annotation: | The article justifies the need of adding the new legal category «wild nature» in the Russian ecological legislation. The author investigates experience of the USA where this legal category was established long ago and is used rather effectively; analyzes the arising problems and the ways of their resolution. This category can be applied for protection of river islands, having taken the intermediate position between the territories of general and specific mode of protection (reserves, etc.). Currently, the ecological law of Russia uses only the category «natural ecological systems»; however, «the wild nature» is a set of natural ecological systems, the administrative category allowing taking measures for protection of such ecosystems which are not connected with each other. |
