As part of the agrarian economy, the fishing industry of the country has a significant role in providing the food necessary for life support. Fish and seafood are the sources of protein, animal origin, vitamins and minerals, which are an essential but scarce piece of nutrition. In the fish processing complex, the companies of small, medium and large businesses, various forms of ownership operate today, and despite the existing difficulties, the industry, albeit slowly, is developing. One of the main problems is the moral and technical backwardness and low innovative activity of the enterprise. The production of finished fish products is a more science-intensive process than traditional fishing. Production on worn-out equipment leads to higher labor, material, and energy costs, and as a result, higher cost of fish products at the output, lower quality, and loss of competitiveness. Monitoring and analysis of the market for new equipment has shown that the use of the latest technology can reduce the energy costs of the organization with the production of cold and on thermal processes up to 20–30 %. The article examines the main organizational and economic aspects of introducing new energy-efficient technologies in food processing plants on the example of «Novosibirskryba» LLC and «TPK «Altair» LLC. The use of innovations in the fish-processing industry is significant as it is directly related to ensuring food security and meeting the growing demand for fish and seafood. The article reveals the features and a number of problems of modernization of fish processing industries. The structure of energy expenditure is presented and energy costs are analyzed for production processes. Based on the example of fish processing enterprises of the Siberian Federal District, the costs for renewal of equipment for the use of new energy-efficient technologies were calculated and its economic efficiency for the company was determined.
