Annotation:

The article is devoted to a comprehensive study of the legal institution of assisted reproductive technologies in Russia. The article provides an analysis of the current legislation and scientific research in the field of application of the methods of assisted reproduction of human being; statistical data and materials of law enforcement practice are investigated. In the Russian Federation there is currently no special law on assisted reproductive technologies, which raises questions about the conditions for the use of methods of assisted reproduction of human being, the legal status of all subjects of relevant legal relationships (patients, surrogate mothers, reproductive tissue donors, etc.). Lacks of legal norms, conflicts in the current legislation significantly complicate the implementation of surrogate motherhood programs in Russia. The existing problems of the legal regulation of the use of assisted reproductive technologies show the relevance of this study and give rise to interest in studying the current legislation and law enforcement practice in this area. The structure of the study is determined by the purpose, objectives and includes the introduction, the main part, conclusions, and the list of references. The introduction formulated the relevance, the study of the problem of the legal regulation of the use of assisted reproductive technologies, the scientific novelty, the purpose and objectives of the study, the theoretical and practical significance of the work is revealed. The main part reveals the researched problems arising in connection with application of the methods of artificial reproduction of human being; the ways of their solution, the materials of practice on this issue are analyzed. In conclusion, the authors come to the conclusion that to date, assisted reproductive technologies are not fully regulated, legislation and law enforcement practice is still not perfect; it is obvious that the adoption of the Federal Law «On the use of assisted reproductive technologies in the Russian Federation» is long overdue.
