Annotation:

The article examines one of the basic trends of modern education — individualization. The principle of individualization recognizes for every student the right to choose the content and methods of education. It becomes important that the student himself, and not the teacher, understand his features and interests and, in accordance with them, build his individual educational program. Individualization as a principle, extends to the whole field of education, inevitably leads to changes in the conditions of activity and tasks of all its participants and positioners, including class teachers. The need to take this trend into account in their work encourages class leaders to expand the scale of the space with which they work: from class and school resources to work with the capabilities of the city and region. Thus, teachers face the challenge of helping students navigate the ever-growing diversity of educational resources. To solve this new problem, the class teacher must have the means of building peculiar “meetings” of students with different elements of the educational environment. In our opinion, a sample can be such a tool. The test is not a new term for the pedagogical language, and even there are some pedagogical techniques for organizing samples. But, despite this, we were unable to find a systematic theoretical understanding of the sample and, thus, the rationale of various pedagogical techniques. The article describes the process of constructing the concept of “sample” through the analysis of etymological contexts and the reconstruction of the introduction of the “sample” as a philosophical and logical category. An important element of the study was the hypothetical assumption of “quality,” as a possible sample product. Based on these materials, the working concept of the sample is presented, as well as the model of the sample as a means of pedagogical activity.
