The content of the discipline “Physical Education and Sports” in the structure of the educational programs of all bachelor training areas (in the agrarian university) is determined by the implementation of universal competencies and modern requirements of the FSES of the last generation to the teaching of this discipline [1]. The appearance in the curricula of the discipline “Physical Education and Sports” of a fixed amount of independent work of students requires organizational and scientific-methodological support of this process. Classroom and extracurricular work on the discipline is of cyclic nature. The three sections provide an interconnected chain of academic work: lectures — seminars — independent work of students [2]. The organization of independent work of university students is a process of creating didactic conditions for the development of initiative and independent thinking. The main trend of holistic comprehension of a variety of scientific and practical knowledge about physical culture as a diverse social phenomenon should be the transition from formal performance of certain tasks with the passive role of the student to such an organization of the educational process, when the processes of cognitive activity of the student with the formation of their own opinion in solving the problem questions and tasks set are actualized [3—6]. The effectiveness of scientific and methodological support of students’ independent work is directly related to the ability to implement research methods, such as: 1) independent study of scientific literature; 2) outlining; 3) cataloging journal articles; 4) writing an abstract; 5) making charts, tables, crossword puzzles; 6) pedagogical and physiological testing [7—9]. Research activities in the discipline “Physical Education and Sports” include the following areas of research:1) human physical development, 2) physical fitness of persons engaged in physical culture and sports, 3) features of the functional state of the body at rest and during physical activity, 4) psychophysiological states in the process of physical culture and sports activities, 5) motivational components for physical culture and sports, healthy lifestyles [10, 11].
