SPECIAL COURSE “READINESS OF FUTURE TEACHERS-DEFECTOLOGISTS FOR PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES” AS A CONDITION FOR PREPARATION OF STUDENTS FOR FUTURE PROFESSION

Annotation:

The article presents a detailed description of the special course as one of the pedagogical conditions for the preparation of future teachers-defectologists for professional activity. The theoretical and practical significance of the special course is substantiated; its scientific novelty is indicated. In addition, a spectrum of scientists involved in the training of teachers-defectologists is presented, whose works reflect promising directions in the training of future specialists and have influenced the present study. The authors give a description of the concept of “special course”, present the formed competence within the framework of the special course, and indicate its purpose and objectives. The article presents a detailed structure of the special course with a description of the topics studied and the proposed types of work, which are aimed at preparing students for functional duties in the profession, and also form integral ideas about the professional activity of a teacher-defectologist. The importance and necessity of using such active teaching methods as a business game, writing an essay, discussion are argued, the value of students doing independent work is explained, the features of organizing classes on the topics studied are shown. In addition, the authors indicate the direction of training, the profile of the educational program for which this special course has been developed, the number of hours allocated for the study of each topic and the performance of each type of work, the duration of implementation, and the semester in which students get acquainted with it. The article discloses the process of implementation and the results of approbation of the program of the special course with the 4th-year students of the training direction 44.03.03 Special (defectology) education, profile “Oligophrenopedagogy”, and also reflects the results of an experiment that demonstrate the preparedness levels of future teachers-defectologists for professional activity in experimental and control groups before and after studying the special course.
