The development of the rocket and space industry in Russia is predetermined by the space economy, the market capacity of which is expansive. Space exploration marked the beginning of the space economy, which provides a high return on investment. The challenges of the external environment that are being overcome in space exploration have given rise to new scientific and technological knowledge that is of inherent value to humanity. Understanding this allows us to provide humanity with new technological solutions, goods and services. The domestic rocket and space industry not only offers new solutions to global problems and is engaged in the development of innovations, but also acts as a reference point for other sectors of the national economy. The enterprises of the rocket and space industry of Russia carry out their activities in the conditions of instability and turbulence of the external environment. It is necessary to form new approaches to improving the management system of their development. In recent years, the volume of private investment in the development of the rocket and space industry has been increasing. The economic efficiency of the enterprises themselves depends on the efficiency of the management of the enterprises. Characteristic of the existing enterprises of the rocket and space industry of Russia is the retaining of some elements of the planned economy in the management. It is obvious that with this approach, we will have to abandon a number of existing areas of development, in which the domestic rocket and space industry is playing catch-up. An alternative approach to the sustainable development of Russian rocket and space industry enterprises is to create a favorable investment climate in the country, which will help attract financing to all sectors of the economy, including the rocket and space industry.
