The article is devoted to consideration of the formation of students’ research activities through their involvement in the process of applied problems modeling. Such tasks include practice-oriented situations in various subject areas: mathematics, physics, chemistry, ecology and others. Use of the informatics capabilities in applied problems solving helps to visualize processes occurring over time with consideration to various input parameters and constraints. This can be achieved by using methods of mathematical and computer modeling. These methods make it possible to form an innovative approach to applied problems solving. Being a means of interdisciplinary interaction, they serve as the basis for development of logical thinking, cognitive interest among students and key competencies of a future informatics teacher. To demonstrate this approach the article provides an example of constructing a model for calculating the pH change of an alkaline buffer solution when a base is added to it, which includes several stages: general description of the model, problem statement, composition of a mathematical model for problem solving, conversion of a mathematical model into a computer model. Modeling of this problem demonstrates the true picture of the chemical process of the theory of electrolytic dissociation — the obtained pH values not exceeding 14. Therefore, the considered method of presenting the task can be used to understand the essence of the process correctly. Modeling in the field of applied problems solving is actively used in Lipetsk State Pedagogical University when teaching students majoring in informatics and information systems and technologies. They become actively involved in this process to obtain a reasonable answer concerning the state of the phenomenon or the object. |
