Annotation:

This article describes the characteristics of the written hieroglyphic text and its features that provoke difficulties in Russian-speaking recipients in the processes of perception and understanding of the information presented. It is noted that the reception of a written text in Chinese by a foreign recipient must take into account the peculiarities of such a text, both linguistic and culturally oriented. The purpose of the study is to identify the features of perception and understanding of the hieroglyphic text by Russian-speaking recipients. To consider the key problem of the study and as a result of applying the methods of analysis and observation, it has been established that the Chinese language reality goes beyond the European one and requires taking into account specific features when working with the hieroglyphic text. The Chinese written text as a linguistic phenomenon differs from the texts of alphabetic cultures in grammatical, lexical and structural aspects. The hieroglyphic text in Chinese as a culturally significant phenomenon is a product that is fundamentally important for understanding the essence of Chinese civilization. The novelty of the obtained conclusions lies in the identification of difficulties in the reception of the text in Chinese by Russian-speaking recipients. The conclusions drawn can serve as the basis for the formation of Chinese teachers’ own approaches to teaching reading texts in Chinese, as well as new methodological developments that remove difficulties in the processes of perception and understanding of the hieroglyphic text by Russian-speaking recipients. The prospects of the study are related to the expansion of intercultural communication in Chinese and the need to find effective strategies for teaching reading of a hieroglyphic text in the framework of the professional activities of future bachelors studying Chinese.
