The author in his scientific article notes that the disclosure of crimes in hot pursuit is one of the main tasks of the internal affairs bodies. The author believes that at present this task is not being solved effectively enough, in support of which he provides statistical data. The author investigates the factors that make it difficult to solve this problem. The author identifies as one such factor the misunderstanding of the essence of this activity on the part of both law enforcers and forensic scientists. The article analyzes the current legal regulations and opinions of various criminologists concerning the problems of solving crimes in hot pursuit. It is noted that the opinion prevailing in textbooks on criminology about the time interval when it is possible to talk about the disclosure of crimes in hot pursuit contradicts the requirements of the legislation. The author analyzes the essence of the activity of solving crimes in hot pursuit and verifying a crime report, on the basis of which he comes to the conclusion about their relationship as part of the whole. When examining the statistical data, it is concluded that not every crime, due to its intrinsic characteristics, can be indicated as being solved in hot pursuit. The article points out the categories of criminal offences for which it is possible to issue a statistical card with a note on hot pursuit disclosure. The result of the study of the essence of this activity is the definition formulated by the author. The author states that the definition proposed by him corresponds to the normative legal regulation of this activity and reflects the essence of this activity, which will allow law enforcement agencies to carry out this activity purposefully and therefore effectively |
