The article considers the problem of student self-determination, due to its significance in the modern socio-cultural situation. Young people are represented in the structure of society as a special social group and their position and moods are always relevant for research, which determined the purpose and objectives of the article: to characterize the peculiarities of the process of personal self-determination of modern students. To achieve this goal, the following research methods were used: polling, testing, observation, comparative analysis of results. The characteristics of the basic concepts of the studied problem are given: student, self-determination and self-development of the person, social well-being, socio-cultural situation, social status, personal-oriented education. The main approaches to the study of the problem of personal self-determination and self-development of the individual in the modern socio-cultural situation are reflected. The results of many years of comprehensive monitoring of students` professional self-determination (using the example of Banzarov Buryat State University) reflect selective data, on the basis of which the following conclusions are formulated: the process of personal self-determination and self-awareness of students in modern realities is primarily due to their social status; material well-being is not a priority in the professional self-determination of students; only a small proportion of students ensure their material well-being; still respondents note a high level of their professional training at the university; among the factors that will contribute to their professional careers, respondents highlight hard work, entrepreneurship and resourcefulness, quality education; the majority of respondents characterize their attitude to existing social reality as positive; among the current problems , respondents highlight health, lack of decent work, personal insecurity; respondents confirm their adherence to traditional universal values that are the basis for favorable social well-being of the population. |
