The article defines the relevance of the problem of developing functional literacy, which is considered at different levels, and the features of its formation in preschool children. The authors consider information culture as an integrative quality of personality, which is characterized by the child’s ability to find information in various sources, store and “work” with it. Information culture of children of senior preschool age is characterized by the development of personal qualities that allow the child to be active, consciously relate to what is learned, and transform the acquired knowledge in their activities. In the structure of information culture of the senior preschooler, there are cognitive, motivational, activity and creative components. The article presents the results of the diagnostics on the formation of indicators of information culture. The results of the introductory diagnostics show the predominance of the average and low levels of information culture development in children, with predominance of indicators of the cognitive and motivational component. The materials present a technology for the formation of information culture in older preschool children, which includes an orientation stage, the purpose of which is to develop the ability to find and identify sources of information; stage of perception (obtaining information), with focus on the development of skills to generalize, systematize, and compare; the stage of information processing (imitative-executive), aimed at developing research skills, the ability to apply the acquired knowledge in various activities; the stage of transformation, the main tasks of which are related to the development of children’s creativity, initiative and independence. |
