THE ENVIRONMENT OF COMMITTING BURGLARIES AS AN ELEMENT OF THE CRIMINALISTIC CHARACTERIZATION OF THE CRIME

In the article the author describes such an element of criminalistic characteristic of burglary as the environment of committing a crime. This element of criminalistic characterization of crime is extremely important and requires both from scientists and law enforcers close attention. Understanding the environment of the crime is a necessary condition for effective activity of law enforcement agencies in its detection and investigation. The most typical circumstances of committing burglaries are subject to mandatory consideration by the person conducting a preliminary procedural check on the report of the crime and further investigation of criminal cases of this category. In this regard, the scientific study of such an element of criminalistic characteristics of burglaries as the environment of the crime is an effective aid in optimizing the activities of operational units of internal affairs bodies and bodies of preliminary investigation. Often, the conduct of investigative and procedural actions, operational and investigative measures in the primary response to the crime actually determines the possibility of rapid and effective detection of burglary, as well as its full investigation in optimal time. The author analyzes statistical data indicating a very significant number of registered burglaries, which indicates the need to concentrate operational and investigative efforts in counteracting them. The article considers the spatial and temporal conditions of committing burglary. Thus, in particular, the author describes the specifics of criminogenicity of apartments in megacities, as well as characterizes the time intervals in which burglaries are more likely to be committed. Based on the results of the study, the author presents the most typical circumstances that characterize the environment in which burglaries are committed.
