THE CONCEPT OF FORMING GENERATING UNITS FOR THE PURPOSES OF CAPITAL SUPPORT IN FINANCIAL STATEMENTS

The cost of capital in financial statements is influenced by many factors, including the revaluation of resources that generate economic benefits. A study of legislation on Russian accounting standards revealed a transition from the concept of an inventory object a unit of account as a separate object to an association of objects that cannot perform their functions separately from each other. At the same time, international financial reporting standards transfer the decision to recognize a unit of account to the level of professional judgment. The convergence of Russian and international standards opens up new areas of professional judgment. First of all, this is an understanding of the cash-generating unit, which makes it possible to consider complex combinations of assets as a unit of account. The paper studies the basis for the formation of units of account and the practice of forming generating units of multiple organizations. The conclusion is that the formation of cash-generating units can be carried out in several directions. The first is for accounting purposes. The second is for the purposes of disclosure in financial statements. And the third is the formation of cash-generating units for evaluation purposes. We came to the conclusion that the assessment of economic resources should be carried out at the level of cash-generating units, which are formed on the basis of the greatest synergistic effect and economic benefit. At the same time, subjective professional judgment is the process of formation of cash-generating units, repair and replacement of components in the group, depreciation and classification in both accounting registers and financial statements. Based on this, the development of a concept for the formation of cash-generating units for the purpose of maintaining capital becomes an obvious necessity of high practical interest
