CURRENT FACTORS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE RUSSIAN LEASING SERVICES MARKET

Since leasing, from an economic point of view, is a tool for updating fixed assets, it is closely related to macroeconomic trends. The most developed segment of leasing in our country is car leasing, which occupies 40 % of the entire market. However, since 2020, leasing of construction and road construction equipment has occupied an important place (11—13 % of the entire leasing market). The significant growth of this segment is largely due to the implementation of national infrastructure development projects, among which “Safe and high-quality highways”, “Housing and urban environment” can be distinguished. The article presents a SWOT analysis of factors affecting the current state of the market and determining its development. Among the main stimulating factors, the presence of a large number of leasing companies and the development of new sectors of the economy should be highlighted. The most important stagnating factors are the rising interest rates and limited types of assets that can be leased. Also, such factors that are multidirectional in their impact on the modern market play a significant role, e.g. the competence of a leasing company in the industry, the possibility of attracting affordable funding, experience working with Russian and foreign companies, working with the maximum number of leasing directions. As a result of the study, the authors identify the most promising trend in the digital transformation of the economy — the expansion of leasing facilities through software leasing. It is proposed first of all to develop this direction for small and medium-sized businesses, since such a product does not need a large initial capital, which may be important for startups and small businesses that do not yet have sufficient financial resources.
