Inclusive education requires that any educational organization create conditions for children with disabilities, including children with mental disorders. Difficulties in organizing the educational process for this category of children are due to the fact that their speech development is significantly lagging behind, which affects both the educational activity itself and everyday communication at sensitive moments. The sensitive period for speech development is preschool age. That is why the focus of this study was non-speaking preschool children with mental disorders. The article presents the results of a two-year formative experiment in which preschoolers from Russia and the Republic of Kazakhstan took part. At the first stage, diagnostics was carried out using the same methods aimed at assessing speech development. According to the results of diagnostics and comparative analysis, it was possible to identify factors affecting speech development, depending and independent of the national characteristics of the language. Further, a unified corrective and speech therapy program was developed and tested to intensify speech activity using a variety of pedagogical technologies: computer technologies, modeling, pictogram method, aromatherapy, art therapy, chromotherapy. Diagnostics carried out at the end of the correctional and speech therapy program showed the presence of positive dynamics and stable results in both preschoolers from Russia and preschoolers from the Republic of Kazakhstan. The results made it possible to formulate conclusions about the effectiveness of using various variable pedagogical technologies in correctional and speech therapy work with non-speaking preschoolers with mental disorders.
