Teaching staff who train specialists in the field of foreign languages in the higher education system are placed in very difficult conditions by modern realities. There are several reasons for this. The traditional teaching methodology does not always maintain the pace of rotation of information priorities and cultural preferences of interpersonal communication. When choosing the tools, the teacher also needs to take into account the circumstances of the permanent progress of technological educational opportunities, since the lack of control in this regard can negatively affect the competence of the audience – future teachers. Maintaining cultural and information exchange between the populations of different countries periodically becomes difficult due to the escalating economic, political and ideological contradictions. As a result of these phenomena, there are numerous restrictive trends — a ban on entry into the country, a reduction in the validity of student visas, a decrease in business and working contacts between foreign representatives, etc. Linguistics students, as the main target audience of this study, are often deprived of the opportunity to practice communication, participate in joint events and gain professional experience. The task of the teacher is also complicated from the point of view of performing intermediary functions between students and an initially unfamiliar information array, which at first is a foreign language for them with its diversity, specificity and difference from the usual spoken and written rules. Informing about the basics of the cultural identity of native speakers of a foreign language, which a representative of another cultural tradition seeks to study, has been and remains the most important issue in the framework of students’ mastering the curriculum. In this work, an attempt is made to comprehend and solve the basic problems of intercultural interaction through the study of a foreign language by students of specialized higher educational institutions, systematizes information about the demand for language proficiency and thus establishing social ties, identifies the most in-demand areas for scientific and practical work of the teaching staff |
