The need to develop communicative skills of modern schoolchildren, which are inseparable from the skills and abilities to apply speech strategies and tactics, determine the relevance of the topic of this study, defined as the teaching of speech strategies and tactics in Russian language lessons in secondary school. The research hypothesis is that the textbooks` methodological potential in this aspect may be insufficient. Theoretical and methodological basis of the study are the provisions representing the development of communicative skills in schoolchildren, system-activity, competence and personality-oriented approaches in teaching. The analysis of the methodological apparatus of textbooks for 5–7 grades by T. A. Ladyzhenskaya, M. T. Baranov, L. A. Trostentsova, et al., textbooks for 8–9 grades by S. G. Barkhudarov, S. E. Kryuchkov, L. Yu. Maksimov, et al. is presented in the context of providing conditions for mastering speech strategies and tactics. As the main research results the methods of assessing the textbooks orientation to mastering speech strategies and tactics are presented and conclusions about the textbooks methodological potential are formulated. Key research findings are: the textbooks tasks orientation to school students work with speech strategies is insignificant; the conditions for mastering only speech strategies and tactics which are essential for successful passing the main state exam are provided; a teacher faces the task to supplement the methodological apparatus of textbooks. The article may be of interest as part of research of ways to develop communicative skills of schoolchildren. As a direction of further research we see the task of finding an effective way to develop the skills and abilities of applying speech strategies and tactics in secondary school. |
