CREATIVE ENTRANCE EXAMINATION IN THE SYSTEM OF PRE-PROFESSIONAL AND PROFESSIONAL SELECTION OF FUTURE TEACHERS

Annotation:

The study substantiates the content and organizational aspects of the system of creative professional tests for pre-professional and professional selection of future teachers. The relevance of conducting creative tests in accordance with the requirements of the modern education system for the personality and professional orientation of the teacher is substantiated. Based on interviews with graduates and members of the examination committee, the experience of conducting a creative exam when recruiting students to the Psychological and Pedagogical Faculty of Yaroslav-the-Wise Novgorod State University (NovSU) in 1993—2004 in the specialty “Foreign Language with an additional specialty “Pedagogy and Psychology” during the certification of high school students studying in university psychological and pedagogical classes at NovSU in 2022—2024 is summarized. The examination procedures are described (presentation of individual creativity with a professional test, presentation of a portfolio, solution of a psychological and pedagogical problem, etc.). Challenges and problematic issues when conducting creative exams are identified (the possibility of subjective assessment, insufficient regulation of the assessment procedure). The participants of the study indicated the relevance of conducting a creative exam (targeted selection of students with a clear pedagogical orientation, the opportunity to demonstrate their personal qualities and values, the motivational-orienting nature of the exam. The results of a survey with students of psychological and pedagogical classes are presented, confirming the relevance of conducting creative tests. Based on the analyzed data, a model for conducting creative professional tests for selecting students for pedagogical areas of training is presented. The blocks of the model are revealed: conceptual (goal, objectives, methodological approaches and principles of organizing activities), methodological (content of examination tasks, methods and forms of testing), organizational and technological (algorithm and conditions for conducting entrance tests) and evaluative-effective (parameters and criteria of assessments, results and effects).
