The article describes the results of the development
and testing of an innovative tool for diagnosing the cognitive
interest of schoolchildren through visual scenarios. The present-
ed methodology is based on the theoretical concept of cognitive
interest by G. I. Shchukina. The diagnosis focuses on two key
parameters of cognitive interest: regulatory and contentactivi-
ty. As a tool, the authors propose a specialized visualized ques-
tionnaire that includes typical learning situations (the mood for
a lesson, working with new material, solving difficult problems,
participating in a discussion, etc.). For each situation, two alter-
native behavioral scenarios are considered, reflecting differ-
ent characteristics of the cognitive interest of schoolchildren.
A distinctive feature of the technique is the generation of illus-
trations using artificial intelligence (Kandinsky, Masterpiece,
YandexGPT.Images). This solution made it possible to create
a unique stylistically holistic and emotionally intense visual
content in the comic book genre popular among teenagers. The
article presents the results of an approbation conducted with the
participation of 228 students. As significant results, the authors
identify: practical confirmation of the applicability of visual sce-
narios as a tool for diagnosing the cognitive interest of school-
children, increasing student engagement; the emotional attrac-
tiveness of the proposed diagnostic tools for schoolchildren; the
universality of the pedagogical solution, regardless of the content
context of the subjects; the effectiveness of using generative AI
to create pedagogically appropriate, aesthetic and relevant visu-
al content. The analysis of the selected visual comic scenarios
for each of the 7 situations allowed us to identify a number of
characteristic features of the manifestation of cognitive interest in
adolescents. Based on the pilot testing, the authors conclude that
the technique based on visual scenarios with AI generation is an
effective and modern tool for diagnosing the cognitive interest of
schoolchildren. It allows us to obtain objective data on the nature
of cognitive interest in selected key parameters, integrate diag-
nostics into the educational process and provides teachers with
valuable information to improve the educational process in order
to develop the cognitive interest of students. |
