CURRENT TRENDS IN PROFESSIONAL TRAINING OF HIGHER SCHOOL TEACHERS: STRUCTURE AND CURRICULUM OF PROGRAMS (ON THE CASE OF EUROPASS TEACHER ACADEMY)

Annotation: The article presents a comprehensive analysis of cur- rent trends in the system of professional training of higher school teachers based on a study of educational programs of the interna- tional network Europass Teacher Academy. In the context of the digital transformation of education, the issue of professional devel- opment of teaching staff is becoming particularly relevant, which has become the subject of this study. The research methodology is based on an analysis of the curriculum of 142 educational pro- grams, which made it possible to identify key areas of modern life- long professional education. The results of the analysis demonstrate the clear dominance of the digital trend presenting in the block on artificial intelligence in education which includes courses on working with ChatGPT, creating educational content based on AI and developing individual learning strategies. The programs place considerable emphasis on innovative pedagogical techniques, including gamification, upside­down classroom, and project­based learning. The author identifies three important aspects of modern professional development programs: technological (using digital tools), methodological (modern approaches to teaching) and psy- chological and pedagogical (classroom management, emotional intelligence, prevention of professional burnout). Interdisciplinary links between different areas are identified as the integration of the principles of sustainable development with digital technologies and pedagogical innovations. The article also analyzes the deve­ lopment of soft skills of university teachers through programs for the development of creativity, critical thinking and communication skills. The results demonstrate practical importance for university teachers of lifelong professional education programs which allow them to optimize the professional development system in accor- dance with global trends in the development of higher education.
