In rhythmic gymnastics group exercises, motor
rhythm is a key factor in synchronicity and expressiveness.
A coach’s ability to develop a coordinated motor rhythm direct-
ly affects the “collaboration” score, which constitutes a signifi-
cant portion of the overall score. This study, based on an analysis
of 45 questionnaires from coaches in 20 cities in Russia (Tula,
Pskov, Moscow, Ozery, Saint Petersburg, Velikie Luki, Kostroma,
Tver, Kaluga, Ryazan, etc.), aims to identify the most effective
methods for developing motor rhythm in gymnasts in group exer-
cises, especially in the aspect of motor interaction with the appa-
ratus. The survey revealed that most respondents are experienced
specialists working with gymnasts in the initial and training stages.
There is a prevailing understanding of motor rhythm as the precise
execution of movements to music, however, coaches also recognize
its role in creating an artistic image. The most popular method-
ological techniques are “counting aloud”, “movement to music”,
and “performing exercises under a metronome”, reflecting a com-
bination of traditional and modern approaches. The importance
of “free movement to music” and “studying dance styles” for
developing expressiveness is noted. The importance of analyzing
and highlighting “key points” in movements for synchronization is
emphasized as the most effective methodological technique. Despite
the variety of methods used, a need for developing improvisation in
groups to improve interaction was identified. It is recommended
to develop methodological guidelines for the selection of musical
accompaniment, providing access to modern video analysis equip-
ment, and conducting specialized seminars for coaches. The study
demonstrates the need for further improvement of the methodolo-
gy for developing motor rhythm, especially in the aspect of devel-
oping group interaction and synchronization, taking into account
the specifics of rhythmic gymnastics. Developing motor rhythm in
rhythmic gymnastics group exercises is a complex and multifaceted
process that requires deep knowledge, a creative approach, and the
ability of the coach to find an individual approach to each gymnast. |
