A comprehensive analysis of the key areas n the development of transnational banks (TNBs) in the Russian banking system in the context of global economic transformations and geopolitical changes is carried out. The purpose of the study is to identify the specific features of Russian TNBs’ adaptation to modern challenges, including sanctions pressure, accelerated digitalization of financial services, as well as a radical restructuring of the international payment and settlement infrastructure. To achieve this goal, a detailed analysis of internationalization strategies, a comprehensive assessment of financial stability indicators, a comparative analysis with leading foreign financial institutions are conducted and the key competitiveness factors are identified. The object of the research are the largest Russian transnational banks, the subject is their development strategies, management models and the role in the global financial system. The scientific novelty of the research lies in the theoretical substantiation of a unique hybrid model of the transnationalization of the banking sector, the development of an innovative author’s methodology for assessing the effectiveness of a TNB in the context of sanctions restrictions, and the modernization of classical internationalization theories in relation to realities of Russian banks` development. The practical significance of the study is reflected in the development of specific recommendations for optimizing international expansion strategies, improving regulatory approaches, and developing alternative international settlement mechanisms. The results obtained demonstrate that Russian TNBs, despite serious external challenges and constraints, remain stably competitive due to the high adaptability of business models, successful reorientation to new promising markets and active development of digital banking platforms, which determine the strategic directions for the further evolution of Russian transnational banks in the context of the formation of a new multipolar financial architecture on a global scale. |
