The article examines the problem of integrating
issues of elementary piano education for children into professional
development programs for music teachers in China.
Based on the analysis of the author’s empirical study, which
identified stable “risk zones” in the Chinese system of basic
piano education — the dominance of reproductive training
methods, a deficit of artistic-imaginative development, and high
psychological pressure on students — the necessity of substantive
updating of professional development courses is substantiated.
It is shown that these problems are a direct consequence
of teachers’ professional deficits: the shift of goal-setting
towards technical results, insufficient mastery of imaginative
teaching methods, and the lack of psychological and pedagogical
competencies.
The current state of the professional development system
for music teachers in China is characterized using the example
of work with teachers at the “Doremi” Center of Musical
Art (Nanjing). A model of a professional development course
is proposed, integrating the diagnosis of professional deficits,
the mastery of figurative-narrative methods of working with
children, and technologies of psychological support. The results
of the approbation of the developed program with the participation
of 10 teachers are presented, which recorded positive
dynamics in professional attitudes: the readiness to use creative
methods increased from 40% to 90%, while the priority of technical
training over artistic development decreased from 4.2
to 2.8 points on a 5-point scale.
Practical recommendations are formulated for developers
of additional professional education programs in China:
the inclusion of a diagnostic module, allocation of sufficient
time for the practical mastery of figurative-narrative
methods, the addition of a psychological-pedagogical
block, and final assessment in the form of a methodological
development.
The article is addressed to developers of additional
professional education programs, methodologists,
and teachers of music disciplines in the professional development
system of China. |
