Annotation: The article discusses the current problem of developing digital competence of preschool teachers. The requirements for the teaching profession in connection with the penetration of digital technologies into the daily lives of children and adults are analyzed. The need for teachers to master modern digital tools and develop appropriate skills is emphasized as a condition for ensuring an effective educational process in the context of digitalization. The authors analyze the research of Russian scientists on the introduction of digital technologies in preschool education, and also consider the structure of digital competence of teachers. The article clarifies that digital competence includes knowledge of information and communication technologies, analytical and diagnostic skills, knowledge of ethical aspects, as well as the ability to constantly update knowledge. The factors contributing to its development include the availability of modern equipment, professional support, and legal regulation. The specifics of working with preschool children necessitate special forms of digital content presentation, compliance with hygiene standards and the implementation of a personalized approach. The most important condition for the effective implementation of digital technologies in the educational process is the continuous professional development of teachers and their methodological support. The formation of digital competence of teachers, in turn, creates conditions for the successful socialization and development of children in a digital society. Improving the skills of teachers, involving parents in digital education, and introducing innovative methods are proposed as ways to solve this problem. An experimental study was conducted among teachers of two kindergartens in Yoshkar-Ola. The research methods used were questionnaires, case solving, and a practical task for creating a presentation.
