The relevance of this topic is determined
by the increasing importance of school upbringing in preparing
young people for successful adaptation to modern society.
The subject of this study is the value orientations of high school
students. The purpose of the study is to determine the impact
of school upbringing on the value orientations of graduates.
The study is based on a survey of Togliatti graduates
(N = 2,437), conducted in 2026. To determine changes
in the value orientations of Togliatti high school students,
the results were compared with data from 2016. The study
hypothesis: the impact of school upbringing on the value
orientations of graduates is manifested in the development
of a healthy lifestyle, satisfaction with leisure, and life goals.
The results of the study demonstrate the effectiveness of Togliatti
schools in instilling healthy lifestyle values in graduates.
Many high school students acknowledge that school has fostered
a healthy lifestyle. This figure has increased by 40% over 10 years.
School upbringing influences graduates’ satisfaction with leisure.
Compared to 2016, this indicator has increased by 18%. Satisfaction
with leisure depends on adolescents’ independence and time
management skills, which are developed through school.
Over the past ten years, adolescents’ life goals have shifted
toward a predominance of material well-being and self-realization.
The number of graduates focusing on professional development
and family values has significantly decreased. The importance
of these values for Togliatti school graduates depends on their satisfaction with the quality of school education. Thus, the influence
of Togliatti schools’ upbringing is manifested in some aspects of lifestyle,
but it is less effective in shaping graduates’ life strategies. |
