Currently, there is a growing emphasis worldwide
on the role of ESG criteria as strategic directions for corporate
activities, as well as their close connection to development
mechanisms. This article proposes a mechanism for ensuring
the sustainable development of industrial enterprises in the Republic
of Cuba based on the ESG methodology. The sustainability
of Cuba’s industrial enterprises is ensured by the systematic
interconnection between the country’s development indicators
and those of its industrial enterprises. The interaction
of various factors in determining these indicators is based on
changes in economic, social, and environmental components
and on prioritizing them to achieve the set strategic goals.
The proposed mechanism allows for the consideration of various
development scenarios aimed at achieving strategic goals.
The development mechanism integrates the E, S, and G components
with specific indicators such as labor productivity, energy
consumption per employee, economic profitability, social expenditures,
and energy efficiency. The methodological architecture
of the mechanism is based on correlation analysis, the ranking
of ESG factors with the determination of significance coefficients, and the construction of an optimization model.
The validation was conducted at Empresa de Conductores Eléctricos
“Conrado Benítez”. Among the identified imbalances
are: a 1.5-fold reduction in staff, a 22% increase in absenteeism,
insufficient work motivation, a rise in workplace injuries,
and high staff turnover (20-25%). The mechanism acts as a catalyst
for organizational sustainability, enabling a shift from rigid
structures to dynamic models of adaptation, and can be applied
in other sectors of the Cuban economy, facilitating the transition
from operational planning to long-term strategic management. |
