This article proposes an integrated digital commercialization
index for universities, which assesses the ability
of higher education institutions to transform research and educational
results into marketable products using digital technologies.
Research shows that universities are actively developing
new technologies, but their commercialization (especially digital
ones) remains uneven. This increases the demand for tools
to assess the effectiveness of technology transfer. An integrated
index that can link digitalization, commercialization,
and innovation activity has not yet been developed. The empirical
basis of the integrated digital commercialization index
for universities is a combination of data sources, collection
methods, and processing techniques that provide quantitative
data for the index indicators. Secondary and primary data were
used for the analysis. A calculation methodology was developed,
a system of indicators was proposed, and the index was
tested using the example of fifteen leading Russian universities.
The results demonstrate the applicability of the index for comparative
analysis and strategic management of universities.
Using the Integrated Digital Commercialization Index, it is possible to analyze the digital infrastructure of universities,
commercialization results, and market engagement, aggregated
using multicriteria assessment methods. This article presents
a critical assessment of the limitations of the Integrated
Digital Commercialization Index to avoid its mechanistic use
and improve the accuracy of conclusions in digital economy
research. The development of the Integrated Digital Commercialization
Index has significant theoretical and practical
significance, as it allows for a systematic understanding
and measurement of economic transformation processes influenced
by digital technologies. It contributes to the development
of research in the field of digital and innovative economics
and provides a comprehensive conceptual framework for analyzing
digital commercialization. The index can be applied
in educational and analytical activities, facilitating the interpretation
of complex digitalization processes and making them
more visible through aggregated indicators and visualization. |
