This article examines aspects of ensuring regional
economic security through transformation and the threats
it poses. It addresses the process of economic transformation.
The author substantiates the need to revise existing approaches
to regional security in light of the intensive implementation
of information and communications technologies, the blurring
of industry boundaries, and the emergence of a new geography
of economic entities. The paper formulates the author’s interpretation
of the concept of regional economic security through
digital transformation and proposes a classification of threats.
The study aims to identify threats generated by the digital environment
and define the contours of regional security. The current
focus is on modifying information links between entities and their
impact on the regional system. The need to shift from a compensatory
approach to a preventive model of responding to economic
security risks is emphasized. The emerging risk of regional dependence
on high-tech companies and their logistics centers is also
noted. The dynamic expansion of the spectrum of threats to regional
economic security requires a rethinking of the fundamentals
of the conceptual framework and the classification of threats.
The study utilizes a logical-conceptual modeling approach, taking
into account the current economic situation and examples of sanctions
pressure, which have significantly altered the pace of digital
transformation of the information and communications infrastructure.
It also highlights the potential for cross-sector chain reactions,
increased regional economic dependence on large digital platforms, and the social benefits of automation. The results
of this study can be applied by federal and regional government
bodies in developing digital security strategies and mitigating
threats resulting from regional digital transformation. |
