POSITIONING OF THE REGION IN TERMS OF THE NATURAL RESOURCES MANAGEMENT

The article has reviewed the issue of use of the regional natural resources on the example of Volgograd region. Based on the characteristics of major social and economic issues of the region and potential possibilities of their solution the analysis has been conducted, which allows determining the major forms and methods of regulating territorial development, providing for the most effective use of natural resources potential with regards to peculiarities. Additionally, the analysis of indices of the foreign trade activity of Volgograd region has been performed, which demonstrated availability of correlation between the export and the gross product per capita, investments into the basic capital of industrial companies. Activation of the foreign trade activity is one of the tools for increasing the regional revenues, population life level and provides for establishing of new work places.
