Annotation:

The article presents historical and logical analysis of establishing the national theory and practice of the foreign language professional training. It also reveals the changes in the objectives and the content of the language teaching for professional purposes at different stages of social development. The author analyzes the possibilities of development of the personality of future specialists through profiling and professionalization of the language education, reviews the content of educational standards in the area of language education, and formulates the main approaches to arrangement of the foreign languages teaching process in the professional context.
