Labor economics: the past, the present, the future

The present article has survey-theoretical character; it is based on the analysis of the problems, which have appeared in the centre of attention of the doctoral dissertations on the specialty 08.00.05. – Economics and management of the national economy (08. – labor economics), which was defended and presented for defense in the period of 2007–2011. The retrospective review of development of the labor economics has been amended with author’s opinion regarding the vector and the prospects of development of the present science in the nearest future. The set of the problems of the labor economics demanding theoretical-methodological research and the practical resolution in the nearest future have been determined. The necessity of careful studying of the foreign experience in the social-labor sphere has been noticed.
