The article examines the concept of ecological tourism, which primarily meant the ecological-business activity aimed at people seeing the natural sights within the borders of the preserved natural areas and outside them for implementation of economic, social, educational and other publicly useful goals with participation of the local population and with the guarantees of the indigenous people rights. Six signs of ecological tourism were identified. The special attention was paid to the modern legal issues preventing development of ecological tourism. Lack of clearly identified borders of many categories of the specifically preserved natural areas was underlined, as well as poorly developed regulations of the maximum allowed anthropogenic load of the natural objects. |
