Problems of execution of compulsory labor as one of the alternatives to imprisonment

The article examines the problems of execution of the new form of criminal punishment — compulsory labor. The author investigates different views of the legal professionals involved in the study of this institution. However, there is no consensus regarding the use of compulsory labor among researchers. The article analyzes the provisions of the Criminal code and the Penal Execution code of the RF regarding compulsory labor; the gaps in the criminal legislation and its practical execution are identified; the expediency of correctional centers operation for serving compulsory labor is studied. Based on the conducted research, the author makes conclusions and formulates specific proposals aimed at improving the institution of compulsory labor.
