STUDENT SELF-GOVERNMENT AS A CONDITION OF DEVELOPMENT OF LEGAL CONSCIOUSNESS OF PUPILS

Annotation:

The attempt of revealing pedagogical potential of the students’ self-government in formation of legal consciousness of students is taken in the article. Brief historical analysis of development of the idea of formation of the legal behavior of students in the conditions of students’ school associations is conducted. Two approaches to arrangement the student selfgovernment at Russian schools are analyzed: self-governance on the management basis and self-governance on cultural basis. The author justified the need to distinguish the concept of school selfgovernment and students’ self-government. Benefits of students’ self-governance on the basis of cultural approach are described as conditions of formation of the legal consciousness of students. The author made conclusion that the process of informal students’ self-governance may be regarded as an effective pedagogical system aimed at formation of legal consciousness of students.
