The features of production of organic food-stuff are identified; the prospects for market expansion in Russia are examined, as well as advantages and disadvantages of the Russian market of organic food on the example of the Omsk region. It is concluded that it is appropriate to create conditions for production of organic agricultural products as intensive agriculture cannot ensure ecological safety of food, while the organic farming has positive effect on the environment.
