Annotation:

The results of the author’s research of designing the model of professional-level training of the teachers-defectologists to work with children having impaired mental function in terms of undergraduate and graduate programs are described in the article. The characteristics of each module of the model are shortly described, their constituent units are represented. The author’s view on the formation of professional competence of defectologist for working with children having impaired mental function is presented. The levels of professional competence of such specialist are described. The introduction of tiered model of vocational education of defectologists provides professional and personal development experts, empowering their professional competences for work with children with impaired mental function.
