Annotation:

The article discusses the issue of competitiveness of technically sophisticated products. The author analyses competitiveness at different levels. The method of the economic category assessment using integral index is proposed. The article provides reasons for amendment of traditional estimation of technically sophisticated products based on parameters price/quality with the assessment of some factors specific for the analyzed industry, namely: brand attractiveness, quality of the product promotion system and servicing. This approach allows identifying the impact of marketing incentives on a certain product’s market position. The method was introduced to test a national-brand car.
