Annotation:

The article focuses on the policy in the sphere of education of the leading countries with developing economies — BRICS. The study of methods for assessing the level of education in cross-country comparisons was carried out. The critical review substantiates the need to develop an integrated indicator for assessing and conducting a comparative study of the educational level of different countries. The article deals with the role of education as one of the decisive factors in the formation of global competitiveness. The results of the survey on BRICS countries made it possible to identify trends in this area. The author examines the factors that will contribute to economic growth and the accumulation of human capital.
