Annotation:

The article is aimed at description of approaches to preparation of the university graduates for life in the rapidly developing postindustrial world of great opportunities, in digital economy, the fierce competition manifested at all levels of the state and society. The subject of the research: the Cases of intercultural communication as a basis (material) for designing of specialized Case‑studies. The aim of the paper is to represent the significance of Case method as a new strategy for influencing the personality of a student, ensuring readiness to participate in complicated situations of intercultural interaction. The methods and methodology of the research: on the basis of application of the methods of theoretical and empirical analysis the authors give the grounds for innovative trends of Case method — its focus on overcoming intercultural conflicts — complicated situations of interaction between representatives of different states, the situations that are characterized by mutual misunderstanding and rejection of each other’s positions. The results of the research: the article describes the innovative model of designing Cases for intercultural communication, which ensure the readiness of students to get out of difficult conflict situations of intercultural communication. The survey conducted among students and teachers, represents the spectrum of spheres of intercultural interaction that are characterized by the greatest potential of conflict sensitivity and complexity for dialogue. A set of situations of intercultural communication, necessary for purposeful analysis while teaching students to a foreign language, is listed. The explication of functions, components, characteristics of Cases on intercultural communication is given, with examples of small‑format Cases. The obtained results can be applied in the process of improving foreign language teaching of students of Russian universities. The article may be of interest to the researchers of intercultural communication problems. The prospects for future research: design of Case‑studies on the problems of intercultural communication to develop an electronic educational environment for training students to participate in the dialogue of cultures.
